I needed a gate for our bathroom door which is 24" wide, and this one fits it nicely. Instructions are a bit unclear and are clearly generic for all of the gate sizes, and this one doesn't include the anti-trip thingy that the longer ones apparently do. Needing to lift the gate to open it is annoying and I taped over the bottom catch so it's easier to open. But it fits and was pretty easy to install. It is alright but just a few things could have made it a lot better. The instructions are really bad. Then the floor support pieces really have to be screwed to the floor if you are using an extension piece but they only have one hole and should have 2 cuz they can wiggle around even when all the way tightened. It should also have something like the support pieces on the bottom for along the top at the joints.Nice solid build. BUT..... Instructions are flat out confusing. Brace/bracket instructions picture is different than what's in the package. When adding extensions, the holder (for gate frame against the floor to keep it from shifting/buckling back and forth) only has a hole on one side; should be one on each side. But you really do need to screw this to the floor if you use extensions. Once assembled, it was confusing how to open it. You expect when you press/push the release button it would release both the top and bottom, but for extra security they have designed it so that after you press the button you need lift/pull back on the gate to open it. Users figure it out, not so intuitive for guests. It closes easy. People coming up to the gate unfamiliar instinctively push/pull the release button, but don't know to lift the gate to release from bottom bracket and it is a tight spring; causes embarrassment and confusion. A simple image on the gate frame showing a finger on button and another hand/arrow lifting up would solve the problem --- the baby or dog wouldn't understand it but others would. And what's with the center threshold not fitting all the way across the bottom opening of the frame? It looks funny. All in all this could be a good product with some better instructions, images that match components, and a few simple touches on the presentation of the gate. Oh, and people who were saying it was simple to set up....I would agree if they were doing so without the extensions. By the way...for the extensions there is fat end and a thinner end on the pins and it matters how they go in. And, it matters which end it up or down on the extension pin holders (look for the grove cap...it goes on the bottom, not the top (the instructions fail to point this out). This could be an excellent product if they listen to consumer feedback. But right now I wouldn't buy it again.UPDATE: We use this on our mostly covered porch to keep dogs from running into the yard; confining them to porch while allowing access to visitors (and us) if they can figure out how to open it. There is only rare times with the right rain or careless watering it gets wet. Where ever there are welds, it is starting to rust. Not a great paint/finish! This might be a fine product if you can put up with the other issues I reported previously if you use in only inside. I would avoid any outdoor exposure unless you are willing to paint it again with Rustoleum or similar rust proof enamel paint.Nice gate for the price. Does a good job of restricting access and easy to operate and to install. It works pretty good to separate rooms. With 3 dogs, we have seen our fair share of broken down gates. I was at my wits end when our bulldog figured out how to open a gate from the bottom, and the goldendoodle and golden retriever followed like a prison break. By far, gate is the sturdiest right from the start. I think it has a lot to do with the gate coming in very specialized sizes, avoiding those side springs to not be so flimsy by needing to be fully extended. Our door opening is 47" and we always had those springs to their fullest extension. This one is a perfect fit - there's no budging it. Also, we love the auto-close feature, but love that it can stay open as well. I only wish it was a little taller (like 3-4 inches more would be ideal, as an adult (5'6") I find I really need to bend down to unlatch the door - but i can deal with it as long as it stays as stable and strong as it is now.Well made and sturdy. They also included very important installation info because it does seem like there's a defect in the gate opening and, wisely, they include a tag that tells you it not closing will be resolved when the gate is installed properly. This was great because I did think it was defective when I saw that. Also, while you might think your walls and floors have a perfectly straight line from one side where you're installing to the other, be sure the let the gate tell you what straight is, not size (68.11 - 70.87) can definitely be installed by one person.Only criticism is that the stabilizers on the bottom could be a little longer. This baby gate is okay. First of all is was very frustrating that it didn’t come with directions. I saw there was some directions on the Amazon page but they really didn’t help me. Set up took 2 people and it took about an hour for us to figure out how to put it together without directions. I had to watch a bunch of YouTube videos. Now its up and it a bit wobbly. If I make it any tighter on the walls the door won’t open or close. It was a lot of money for a wobbly gate. I hope my son can’t pull it down. Right now it is now mounted to the wall it’s just put up with pressure but I will be mounting it in the future. Maybe that makes a difference.Got this to keep my Corgi out of the garden when we're running the sprinkler. Assembled and installed it myself (I am normally very bad at this type of thing!) Looks beautiful, so much better than plastic! So easy to use (no more stepping over gates) and self-closing! I know there are already a ton of great reviews, but I love this so much I wanted to add mine. When assembling make sure you've tightened the installation knobs enough that the little red semi-circle by the gate mechanism can't be seen. After being used all day, the red semi-circle starts to reappear, so we hand tighten the knobs once a day and the latch mechanism works perfectlyHad to get a gate that would fit the narrow doorway between our balcony screen and glass doors, and this fits perfectly. During the spring, summer and autumn months we usually leave the door open and screen door closed so our cats can have a sniff of the air outside and feel the breeze in their fur and whiskers. Unfortunately our oldest bashed the screen door off the track and escaped into the neighbor's back yard... we were able to get her back, but had to find an alternative/extra security. Glad we found this! Obviously gonna be storing it for winter, though!PLEASE DO NOT BUY THIS! 5 year old knocked it over in one day. The pressure mount is very flimsy and the door's lock mechanism is very difficult to open even for an adult. I imagine that a large dog or a toddler could knock this gate over, no problem. If you want to make the unit sturdier, you have to use so much pressure that the door no longer opens at all. Totally useless.Buy this one instead (same company but MUCH better):https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B0759HB85F/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1I’m confused. The gates themselves are great. But I thought extensions came with them? Where can we get extensions?Relatively easy to install. Sturdy enough to keep a pitbull from pushing it down.
