My husband and I love this baby book we have bought one for each of our two boys and now for our third. It covers just about every aspect of babyhood to toddlerhood up to 3 years of age that you could possibly imagine. Everything from the before the baby is born: a place for sonogram pictures, a family tree chart, biographies of mom and dad, a part to record the baby shower (all of these sections include a page for you to put pictures in), setting up the babies nursery and a personal spot to write to your newest before they are born. Then it covers in detail all the aspects of the birth (weight, height, how the baby was welcomed into the world (birth story) and where he/ she was born. Theres a little envelope for keepsakes that we keep our sons hospital bracelets and other hospital memorabilia followed by a page for the hand and foot prints (I always bring the baby book with us to the hospital so the nurse can put the foot and hand prints into the book and I can record my feelings and thoughts right in those first moments). There are 2 pages for pictures of those first couple days in the hospital, followed by a page for the first day home; what house you lived in, siblings reactions, what the babies temperament was like as well as how much it slept and ate. Theres also this neat two page section about the world where you record simple things about the world they were born into: the president, price of gas and milk, toy fads, popular sports and fashion trends (which are all going to be fun to look back on the child becomes an adult). Next there is a portion where mom and dad can write letters to baby called "Thoughts on the first few weeks of your life." This book makes things very personal and gives plenty of room to write to your child and paste pictures of many important moments.Theres a spot for the babies favorite things and for the grandparents as well as other family moments- all that special stuff that you would partially remember but mostly forget the details of.The next two sections are some of my favorite: The growth section where you record from month 1 to month 12 the date, weight, height, length and any other comments regarding your changes followed by a page where you can write about how how these changes effect you and your husband and how fast it all goes.Next is a section for babies "firsts", including the first time baby laughed, held their head up crawled, walked, slept thru the night, ate solid food, stopped wearing a diaper, sang a song, made a friend, wrote the alphabet, etc etc etc. I add in the margins all the firsts my husband and I find important as well. It gets more specific after that, including a page for the first haircut with an envelope for the lock of hair, a tooth page where you can record when each tooth came in and the first dentist appointment, first steps, holidays and pets (each has a side for recording and a side for pictures). After that the book focuses on the first 3 birthdays: what was done for each one, a page for recording our first years growth and accomplishments as well as favorite things. At the end of these sections is a page for the mom or dad to write a letter or how they feel about your first birthday and that first (or second or third) year of babies life. This book is the best baby book I can imagine for recording all those special moments and landmarks of your childs first 3 years, including before they were born. In the front of the book there is a big envelope for any keepsakes important to you and a table of contents for each of the sections so you can turn to pages easily. I love how I can compare each child's growth because Ive gotten the same book for each so its easy. There are little quotes: some from the bible (Im not religious but the quotes they use are more general), Carl Sandburg, a Haida Indian saying, Helen Keller, etc. Ive read in some of the reviews of this book that its "too religious" but its really not= theres an equal amount of quotes from all different sources; all are very sweet and very appropriate.I would recommend this book to any new parent who really wants to record all of those important life moments for their baby and likes to maybe scrapbook a little or personalize things. Im not much a scrapbooker but I love to make each book personal for each baby. I cant imagine a better book than this for all that! This was a great purchase and really fun to put together. It took me a lot of searching to find a good baby scrap book that wasn’t filled with religious stuff, like art and quotes.I spent a long time looking for a keepsake book and this is the only that had everything I was looking for.1) It's gender-neutral (we didn't know what we were having)2) There are several pockets, so you can save a lock of hair, hospital bracelet, or whatever you want.3) There are pages that are almost blank, so you can write whatever you want, as well as pages that ask specific things like, homecoming, first holidays, first outing, etc. And there are lots of pages for photos, and these really cute cardboard picture frames for matting your photos are included.4) It's not at all cheesy. We wound up having a boy, and I think this book is something he'll be able to enjoy when he's a little older. It's not a whole bunch of pastels, nor is it filled with racecars and trains. The colors are somewhat bold, with lots of purples, greens, and yellows, as well as as some pinks and blues. There are quotes on the bottom of every page. And there's a little picture of a bear on every page. One of my favorite things about this book is that each page is different. There are many color schemes, and the bear pictures are all unique, so when I show this to my son in a few years, he won't get bored.5) It's not ridiculously expensive. I paid $20 for mine, and I think it's well worth it.Some of the topics covered in this book are: Visitors, About Your World, Celebrating, Your Favorite Things, there are pages about relatives, First Tooth, and there's a growth chart, which I'm definitely planning on using.I highly recommend this book. I wish I had had it in the hospital, because there's a place for baby's foot- and handprints. If they still make this book in a few years, I'm going to buy it for our next baby.I purchased one baby book for my son, and this one for his twin sister - between the two, this is definitely my favorite, and I have yet to see any other book that I like better. As previous reviewers have suggested, this book is cute, without being cheesy. It is bright and whimsical and has a nice layout.I love the pre-cut photo frames, which really add a "finished" touch to the album - great for those of us who want a neat book but don't have the time or skill to do a real scrapbook. Some of the pages that this book includes are: Family Trees, Baby Shower, All About Baby, All About Mommy, All About Daddy, A Few Thoughts About Before you Were Born, Hand and Foot Prints (you have to buy the ink pads), The World Around You, Thoughts On the Day of Your Birth, Announcing Your Birth, Celebrating Your Birth (for Christening/Bris memories), Thoughts on the First Few Weeks of Your Life, 2 pages of "Firsts," special pages (including space for pictures) for First Tooth, First Steps, First Outing, First Holiday Celebrations, First Pet, and First Haircut. There are about 4 pages dedicated to Years 2 and 3.Book includes a velum envelope at the front that can hold cards and photos, an envelope for the hospital bracelet, and an envelope for a clip from the first haircut. The space for entries is adequate, without being overwhelming, and there is a nice layout for pictures next to most written memories. I love this album, and think it will be a delight for my daughter to read when she is older! You can post all of your baby and then go back and remember beautiful things ❤I did like the book, has essential baby details to put in without being too extensive. I do like the bible quotes that are around the book, however if you are not into religion this book is not for you. For me the book deserves 5*, I am giving it 4* because of the packaging. The book came loose, not inside any bag, looks like has been on display as there is some glue from a sticker on the cover. Also looks like this book were in between other heavy books as the cover has a mark. I thought about returning it, but as my baby was about to arrive I did not bother.I got this book as a shower present for my first baby. I love the look of it - fun and colourful. Most other baby books I've seen are just the standard pink or blue fairly sedate books that are fine, but a little boring. This book has lots of great pages to fill in, but what I like are the blank pages where I can write whatever I want. This allowed me to write in stories about my baby as she grew. Things that just wouldn't fit in the fill in the blank style books. I got a different book for my second baby thinkng it would be nice for a change, but after looking at it, I decided I needed to get this one again. We have ordered this book, as we wanted something different for our second child. For our first one we bought "My Baby Journal: A Keepsake for Baby's First Three Years" from Alex A. Lluch and we were very pleased with it, but wanted the two kids to have two distinctive books. We just wanted something similar, also covering the first 3 years. The only alternative was the Humble Bumbles Journal. The two books are very similar in terms of content, they cover every topic, have cute drawings, HOWEVER: whereas the Alex A. Lluch book has high quality, the Humble Bumbles Journal was a big disappointment! The paper is thiner (two pages contain a glued envelope on one side, the other side looks awful due to the glue, you can't properly write on it), the cover has wrinkles due to bad glue job. We have received one copy in this shape, second one the same mess. The first one also contained some damages on the sides, looked like some mouse bites. What a shame! We sent back second copy as well and decided to order the Alex A. Lluch book again. Better to have the same book for both kids than this disaster! This is a beautiful book for baby memories. I have a few and this is my favorite. It includes a height chart that I loved tracking my daughters growing progress on. It also comes with little frames for all your photos on the pages. Lots of room for stories and information about baby. I purchased one for my best friend when she was pregnant and she loved it also!It is extremely cute and i like guidance of questions on every page. It has bible quotations so might be problem for non christian, but i like it for myself even though i dont consider myself religious person. I would prefer grow chart at the beginning of the journal to be in cm instead of inches. Also i would of prefer more place for pictures and more blank pages for free writing.
