This particular car seat is rated for babies 4 -30 pounds. We had this model for our first baby who was almost 9 pounds at birth & it was perfect. We bought this for our new baby & she was 6lbs 10oz when she was born. Although this model states it is for babies as small as 4 pounds we found that to be false. Even with the straps as tight as they get & as low as they go, even in the back by the buckle, the straps were still EXTREMELY loose on my baby. She was 6lbs 3oz & almost 20" long when she left the hospital. There is no way this is meant for babies as small as 4 pounds. Even a highly experienced nurse was flabbergasted by the car seat being rated for babies that small & it still not fitting my baby.
