Build QualityThe play pen is OK -- about what I expected in terms of quality and it matches other playpens at this price point. The wood is smooth and straight. The corner pieces function well (actually very well). The gate is a bit tricky to use (and mine had apiece that was broken off it in the box -- bit it still latched OK). All the plastic pieces seem to be slighly mis-sized as they don't quite align and fit the wood flush (see picture 12,13) .What I likeThis comes preassembled and the way the corners adjust is the best i've seen. To operate the corner, you click the top button once (no need to do anything to the bottom), then rotate to the angle you want, then click again to lock it (you can wiggle slightly till you hear a click. The play pen is quite heavy and can't easily be lifted by kids and it comes with suction cups (picture 3,4) to insert into the bottom and secure to a flat floor.What I didn't likeThe gate has to be unlocked from both the top and bottom. It is not easy to unlock. This isn't much of an issue for me as you can just step in /over or drop / pickup your kiddo at the "wall". Also the top door (double) hinge is capable of 180 degree opening (either way - picture 9) but the bottom hinge is can only rotate about 90 degrees (picure 7).Really didn't likeThe two ends of the gate click together with a plastic coupler. It was hard to fit the ends into the coupler on the bottom run of the fence.Final thoughtsAll things aside this is a good gate that I would recommend because of the very easy setup and versatility of configuring the shape. I struggled with taking a star off this but although this has a few issues I like it much better than any other gate I've used (2 others).
