Our 15 almost 16 month old had outgrown her playpen and was trying and almost succeeding in escaping her large playpen. it was time to give her some more room to play and we researched and looked for a few weeks before ultimately biting the bullet and buying this one. When the item first arrived I was worried as the box sustained some damage in transit, however upon close inspection nothing was damaged and all the parts were there. The instructions were generic and obviously for a wide variety of sizes and configurations and not just the size I ordered. I was sure we were missing a piece due to looking at the instructions however when putting it together I realized that I indeed had everything and installation went smoothly except I did put one section in the wrong spot which luckily it doesn't affect the integrity. If you're not good with figuring things out and troubleshooting then this could be an issue due to the generic instructions however it was pretty self explanatory once I started piecing things together. Our opening was exactly 84.5 inches which this gate advertises as fitting but I decided to buy wall protective mounts to place the tension rods in to add a few extra centimeters on either side for a more snug fit. I am so glad I did! With such a large opening I did use the sticker floor mounts provided and placed them staggered on each side of the gate mounting them on either side of the metal seem attachments/guards as they slid all around without doing so. Additionally the floor stickers provided much needed support for the large opening on the floor and luckily we have hardwood floors so they would adhere. I really dont see how this large of a gate would have worked over carpet.
